Hi, I am Amanda Ferg

My field of study is in theatrical costume production for which I have earned both bachelor's and masters's degrees. The skills I have built and demonstrated over time have enabled strong communication and translation capabilities to take the vision of a designer and transform that into couture garments. In addition I can react quickly to solve problems or change requests, recommend solutions as well as meet hard and fast deadlines ("the show must go on").

These creative and technical skills I have cultivated over 13 years are now aiding me in my pursuit of a new career in front-end web development. I have earned certificates from SheCodes coding workshops and I have gained knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React.

I collect VHS tapes and 90s thriller books. I love horror movies of any and all decades. Trivia games make me absurdly excited whether I know all the answers or not. It’s just fun to play and learn new facts about myriad of subjects! My thesis in graduate school focused on corset making, and that has become my favorite garment to construct. My ideal afternoon includes a good cup of a coffee, an interesting book, and a porch to lounge on. I love knitting while I watch the tapes I collect, because I like to keep my hands busy. Penguins are my favorite animal. Pink is the happiest color for me.
